Happy New to all Members
Due to poor weather conditions the meeting for Saturday the 9th has been cancelled Our first meeting of the new year will now be on February 13th. The list of demonstrators will be rescheduled and notified a.s.a.p.
It is with the deepest regret we have learned of the sad news of the passing of Jim Byrne who died on Saturday the 2nd January 2010 and whose funeral took place the 6th of January.
A good representation of east central chapter members and turners from around the country attended the removal and the mass. Jim was a well known turner and will be sadly missed, may he rest in peace.

Reports from the East Central Chapter
As all the committee were standing again we had a brief but successful AGM.
There followed a very interesting and informative demo when members from our own chapter were joined by members from the Dublin chapter to show their skills in the making of a flute.
Four lathes were in use and proof of this co-operative effort was shown when Nicky Power ( a visitor from Dungarvan) made music with the finished flute.
Our thanks go to all concerned. They donated a flute for a raffle and a flute to be raffled for our charity the Alzheimer's Society.
